Cloisonné Enameled Copper Snuff Bottle with Western Figures (Qianlong Mark, Later Imitation) This snuff bottle is crafted in copper with painted enamel decoration and a flattened globular form. The front side depicts two nude Western-style female figures reclining playfully in a lush green landscape, their postures relaxed and natural, surrounded by dense foliage. The reverse features a seated noblewoman engaging with Cupid in a pastoral setting, echoing scenes from European classical mythology and Romantic painting traditions. The shoulders are decorated with red scrollwork against a golden-yellow ground, and a ruyi band in vibrant red, blue, and purple encircles the neck. The domed stopper is enameled in turquoise blue and fitted with a metal collar, adding richness and contrast to the overall design. A four-character Qianlong mark (乾隆年製) in blue enamel is inscribed on the base, identifying this as a later imitation piece—most likely from the late Qing or early Republic period. The bottle exemplifies the fusion of Qing imperial decorative traditions with Western pictorial subjects, showcasing refined enameling technique and cross-cultural appeal.
