A WWII Nazi German enameled badge for the German Aircraft Reporting Service, or Flugmeldedienst. This service was formed in 1932 and was transferred to the control of the Luftwaffe in 1939. The purpose of the Flugmeldedienst was to observe and report the movements of enemy aircraft. The badge was often awarded to searchlight crews who were attached to Army and Luftwaffe flak units. The organization was part of the Reichsluftschutzbund RLB, which was responsible for air raid precautions in Nazi German. Hallmarked and numbered 30613 on the backside.
