Description
An early fine French rapier featuring a silver grip and guard with a makers cartouche. The rapier exhibits the refined craftsmanship typical of French swordmaking. The blade is trefid and blued and gilt, a decorative technique that combines heat-treated steel coloration with gold embellishment to highlight engravings or inscriptions.
