An antique Russian Orthodox hand-painted icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Saint Nicholas has depicted frontally half figured wearing special clothes, blessing with his right hand and holding open Gospels with his left one. Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary offering an omofor are shown behind him. Palex school. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on wood panel. Inscribed upper right and left. Circa: early 19th-century. Antique Russian religious items and collectibles.
