A gilt bronze modernist sculpture depicting a nude female figure by Alexander Archipenko, Ukrainian, American, 1887 - 1964. Signed and dated to the base: Archipenko 1916. Mounted on a cubic black granite base. Alexander Archipenko was an outstanding Ukrainian-born avant garde sculptor, one of the greatest masters of cubism. Alexander Archipenko used voids in his works in an original way and skillfully mixed different genres, and also created many works in the styles of realism and constructivism.
