Description

A 19th century Chromo Typogravure print Grand Vase De Rennes by Lambert. Copyright 1893 by Geprge Barrie, Imp. Lemersier, Paris. Matted. The Grand Vase De Rennes from the National Manufacture of Sevres is a magnificent example of Sevres ware designed by Bienville, painted under glaze with flowers and ornaments. George Barrie, from 1893 to 1895 was the Philadelphia printer and publisher, and worked upon a large and lavish series of original etchings and chromolithographs detailing exhibits of the fine art from participating countries at the Worlds Columbian Exposition. Barrie hired some of the finest etchers of the time, the majority being either French or American, to work on the series. Antique French Graphic Art, Prints And Multiples For Collectors.
