An antique early 20th century American gilt silver cigarette case by R. Blackinton and Co. The case is hand engraved with the letters M.S. on the lid. Hallmarks: Sterling, R. B. Co., 3335. R. Blackinton and Co. was founded in 1862 by Walter Balou, Thomas S. Mann and Roswell Blackinton. Sold in 1967 to Wells Inc. Managed and owned for many years by members of Ballou and Blackington families. Manufacturer of sterling silver and gold novelties. American Silver, Antique Cigarette Cases For Collectors.
