A one and a half gallon stoneware pot with cobalt decoration, stenciled Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA. The Greensboro area became the center of stoneware industry in the early 19th century. By the beginning of World War I all production was stopped, including the work of Hamilton and Jones manufacture, one of the most prominent American stoneware companies of its time.
