Jean Veber, French, 1864 to 1928, a Post Impressionist oil on board painting depicting a rural landscape with human figures near the farmhouse on the shore of a water pond with floating sailboats in the distance. The painting is performed in impressive impasto technique with clearly visible vibrant brushstrokes. Housed in an old gilt wood and gesso frame. Signed by the artist lower left. Note: Jean Veber was born in Paris, in 1964. He was the son of the gifted illustrator Eugene Veber. Jean Veber later became a student of Theodore Maillot and Alexandre Cabanel. The artist made his debut in 1890. Until 1898, he regularly presented his works at the salon of the Soicete des Artistes Francais.
