A lot of two vintage Russian traditional lacquered wooden trinket boxes. Black ground color, red interior. The pieces are hand painted and depict the city landscapes of St. Petersburg in a fairy tale manner. Hand signed in Russian Kholui, St. Petersburg made by Pugachev D.S. and Serov A. Kholuy miniature is a folk craft that developed in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo region. The lacquer miniature is made with tempera on paper mache.
