A pair of early 20th century French enameled cameo glass vases in the taste of Francois-Theodore Legras, 1839 to 1916. Both features a square base and neck and a body slightly tapering towards the middle. Decorated with finely hand painted winter forest landscape scene. Both are signed to the body: Legras. Francois-Theodore Legras was a famous French glassmaker master . At the age of 20, he entered as a clerk in glassworks near his native hamlet. At the age of 24, he left to work at the Plaine Saint-Denis glassworks. Six months later, Legras became a manufacturing manager and in 1866, at the age of 27, he became director of glassware. Legras became chief executive officer of Legras et Cie, then of the Verrerie et Cristallerie de Saint-Denis. He participated in many national and international exhibitions.
