An antique Indian Mughal Empire hand-forged steel Khond battle ax. Features a bow-shaped steel blade adorned with captivating elephant scenes inlaid engraved on both sides, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the Mughal artisans. At the apex of the long and slender steel shaft, there is a four-sided spike. The ax is based on the traditional pharetri associated with the Khond peoples. Circa the mid late 19th century.
