An antique fine bronze bird figurine, apparently an avatar of the Indian deity Garuda. Circa the 18th century or earlier. The bird is depicted standing with folded wings and a long beak. It is richly decorated over the entire surface with relief patterns typical of India. Garuda is a Hindu deity who is primarily depicted as the mount vahana of the Hindu god Vishnu.
