A Russian 88 gilt silver and enamel salt cellar. Raised on four legs and made in the shape of a throne chair with a gold washed interior. The exterior is covered with polychrome enamel geometrical, foliage, swirl, and scrollwork patterns made in the Cloisonne technique with braided silver accents. The back part is decorated with an en plein enamel miniature depicting a portrait of a young Russian woman wearing a traditional costume after the original oil painting, A Cup of Honey, 1890, by Konstantin Makovsky.
